There are currently 10 LJ users subscribed to the rss feed and the stats for the kittenface subdomain are deeply moving. From my estimate, I only know a quarter of the people reading this. Kittenface gets more hits than /squirrelmail which is the second most popular directory[1] on ohmazing.net. I'm not surprised at all considering how widespread the Ray-love is. I mean, who doesn't love Ray?[2] I'm sure he's thoroughly embarrassed, and he's so cute when he gets all flustered. This makes my heart sing the Ray song.[3]

Rayquests have been coming in at a pretty steady pace, along with questions. I'd rather spend time on working on new Rays than cutting and pasting the answers over and over so I've compiled a bit of a FAQ. Feel free to ask new questions though. Ray is my favorite topic.

Why are you doing this? and What did Ray do?

Really what hasn't Ray done - for us all? The general (and correct) consensus is that Ray is the kindest, most thoughtful and honest person that everyone who has had the excellent fortune to meet him knows. He's also generous, responsible, and wicked smart. (Plus he smells really good.) Ray is all good things, so could it be that all good things are Ray? Kittens, samurais, damsels, pirates, alien machines of brutal destruction: all good things. After a few weeks of kittenfacing, I've come to an epiphany - What if Ray was everything? And so everywhere I look I now see Ray.

This is just creepy. If you like Ray so much, why don't you crochet him an afghan or give him a present?

Sure, I could've sent him flowers or made him a meatloaf in the shape of a jolly roger, but I'm not like other girls. Also I live 244 miles from my beloved so a poorly Photoshoped tribute will have to do.

Who are you and how do you have the time to do this everyday?

I'm a girl who loves Ray. Others who claim the same should watch their backs.

Kittenfacing goes well with my nightcaps. Sometimes I do several at a time and put them in the queue to post automatically 24 hours apart, but a day doesn't go by that I'm not staring intently at my kittenface for at least a half hour. Some people eat dinner. Takes all kinds, I suppose.

Wait. You're not entirely kidding, are you?

My affection is no joke.

How does Ray feel about this?

He sighs a lot. Ray's sighs are sexy, even via irc. He also says, "I hate you Milkman Liz" on a daily basis. And then I swoon.

How long do you think you'll keep this up?

Longer than my beloved's hair. Longer than the Ministry/side project discography. Longer than - oh. Let's just say I've got a backlog of Rayquests and my capacity for annoyance is longer than Kittenface is tall.

Who are you and what is your connection to my Kittenface? In other words, do we have to rumble?

Can you explain your strong desire to see Ray's kittenface on the body of women?

I've been told that my sincere tribute and show of affection has entertained a number of you. What can you do for me? There is a bounty on clean high res head shots of Ray. Any takers? When you create an account you're securing your name in the comments feature so that only you may add a comment using your name and you (should, in theory) be able to add albums and upload pictures to the Community Gallery. (I haven't tested this out entirely. Give it try and we'll see.) You do not automatically have posting or uploading abilities to the blog though, as you have to be added manually to the guest-team.

To request entry-posting ability create an account, login using the form to the right and then add a comment to this post.

When you have posting access, you can go to the administrative area to add new items and even upload new pictures.

Remember: there is always a need for new Original Ray Photo contributions. Straight-on shots are scarce, as are recent shots. First to get me a new in-focus dead-on headshot of the object of my desire gets an @kittenface.ohmazing.net address and/or their very own subdomain at ohmazing.net. If he's wearing something other than a black shirt in it, you also get a full color print of your favorite Daily Ray. I mean, it's not hard for me to print an extra copy while I'm adding to the Kittenface Shrine in my bedroom, you know?

Just don't be too eager or we'll have to have a duel.
